With a delivery that verges on the funereal, laid-back and laconic antipodean Crook has some good material, albeit somewhat old-fashioned and misogynistic in its subject matter.
Sometimes, though, the shambolic and slow delivery hinders rather than helps the routine, leaving the strong impression he really doesn't want to be there - an attitude that can spread to the audience, too.
It may be all part of the act, but just making the set that bit tighter would surely show off the genuinely funny lines to their best.
