Marty McLean making his Mirth on Monday debut was awesome, (rarely use awsome as a rule but Marty's Canadian and it feels appropriate) he really was. Loads of great stuff. His closing routine was filthy, filthy, filthy and it was delivered, visualised in such an expert way I can only bow in admiration. Believe you me if that wasn't done right who knows what the reaction might have been. It has been a couple of years since the Mirth crowd have been treated to such a rude story and they lapped it up. If you can get to see Marty, then go to it. Des, August 2008 |

Totally unprofessional, no care or consideration for the audience or club. When you really have to dig deep on stage when everything is going against you is the sign of a very good comic. Marty is simply not willing to work hard when this happens. The comments below are probably from gigs that were well organised & set up. Clearly at a tough gig he disappears up his own arse. Reg, June 2008 |

Maybe we got him on an off night but we saw him in a gig in Blackpool and he was truly horrendous. There was a well behaved hen night in and a few more of us and to be fair a couple of the other comedians struggled a little in what was a cavernous room but this guy was just awful. Maybe we just didn't 'get' his offensive behaviour but telling us from the start that the gig was a waste of time and then making us feel bad after we'd paid good money to see him was dreadful. Not funny and rude and offensive offstage as well - a complete waste of money. GagHag, June 2008 |

Oh my god this guy is hysterical - I was expecting him to be a right twot after the first minute but by the end of his set he was virtually tearing the roof a new arse. A must-see! Trinny, February 2008 |
|
Very funny, very clever and you're right: we all warmed to his "don't-give-a-shit" attitude. Excellent when performing material but truly awe-inspiring when dealing with a persistently irritating table of "hecklers". Will book again without thinking. Gordon Kent, February 2008 |

I found Marty is full of confidence that may border on being too cocky. Overall he had some decent material but couldn't get on the right side of the crowd unlike some of the other acts. Sam, February 2008 |

Marty exudes confidence and control, and seems to have found a really strong miserable, don't-give-a-shit 'voice' that British audiences will warm to straight away. Sam, January 2008 |

I saw him in Preston a couple of weeks ago. The story where he gets stuck in a house of 16-year-old girls had me in hysterics. Very funny comic. Go see him! Cheshire Cat, November 2007 |
