High Spirits With Shirley Ghostmas
BBC Three series
Marc Wootton
|
Marc Wootton is probably best known for his role as BBC Three’s fake psychic Shirley Ghostman. He also starred in the Channel 4 reality gameshow My New Best Friend, and has appeared in Nighty Night and the 2006 wedding film Confetti. He started his comedy career as one third of spoof eco-warrior group Cyderdelic – alongside Barry Castagnola and Liam Woodman – who appeared at the Edinburgh Fringe, on the 11 O’Clock Show and landed a six-part BBC Three series. |

The Dom Joly of character comedy. That is not a good thing, incidentally. Mandy Smith, January 2010 |
|
New series, not so good. It's got this ill judgded, maladjusted child sketch, the child runs off an off kilter monologue to an appalled psychcologist. The child reveals that teachers(!) at school have been more or less openly abusing themselves in front of him. Elsewhere there is a self-styled 'shocking' commedienne who has no jokes but sees herself, as a stand up, being 'allowed' to be purely offensive. Strange Jack, January 2008 |
|
Very good Jack, November 2007 |

The man is a genius. ShirleyLover, September 2007 |
