Comics join Death Valley
Guest stars include Roisin Conaty, Jim Howick and Hammed Animashaun
A raft of comedians including Roisin Conaty, Ghosts’ Jim Howick and SNL UK’s Hammed Animashaun are to have guest roles in the second series of Death Valley.

Also making appearances are Mike Bubbins, the stand-up who created Mammoth, People Just Do Nothing’s Asim Chaudhry and Ab Fab’s Jane Horrocks.
Exact details of their roles have not been revealed, but first-look images show Howick in a Game Of Thrones-style fantasy outfit, apparently being filmed, while Chaudhry is tending an allotment as fellow guest star Tori Allen Martin practises her golf swing nearby, below.

The trailer has also been released for the second series, which returns to BBC One and iPlayer on May 17.
The comedy-crime series, stars Timothy Spall as retired actor John Chapel and Gwyneth Keyworth as detective sergeant Janie Mallowan, and features Alexandria Riley, Steffan Rhodri, Melanie Walters and Rithvik Andugula in the regular cast.
Other guests in the six new 45-minute episodes include Alexandra Roach, comic-turned-actor Liz Carr, below, Mark Lewis Jones and Owen Teale.

Set and filmed in Wales, series one had the biggest overnight audience for a new scripted show in five years and averaged 4.6 million viewers across 28 days.
