Brilliant Christmas special, Old Gran Taylor is excellent!

John Howe, January 2006

She can be glamorous at times too, but at the end of the day - many, many of the sketches rely on repetition of a 'hook' catchphrase ... and again ... and again - ad nauseum in some cases. Sure - some great comedy does rely on repetition - but SO many characters here seem to have originated from that well a little too often. When a season's opening episode creaks under the sheer weight of this comedic 'tool' - then the subsequent episodes quickly have you begging you for a swift conclusion. Julian 05.01.06

I saw her show on the airplane coming from the UK to the US and couldn't get enough of her. I wish her DVD came in an American format- I'd pay big bucks for it. I haven't seen character acting as good as this in a long, long time. Marisa 05.01.06

This has been the best show on TV for a long long time. She is pure delight as everyone knows someone that she minmics on her show. Please please please do a tour and come to Brighton. Shelly Farmer 05.01.06

I think Catherine Tate is totally hilarious. I have to agree with Nadia when she said 'she makes normal everyday life so funny'. The first time I saw Catherine Tate on the tely was when she appeared on Children in Need last year, so when I saw her christmas special advertised on telly, I just had to watch it and what a show it was. The swearing gran at the end was so funny, it was unbelievable. Stephen 04.01.06

The Catherine Tate Show, is at best a very poor and unfunny show. The characters are ridiculous and the show should never be even compared to the brilliant Little Britain. Admittedly at some times her characters can raise a smile and maybe even a slight laugh, but this is very rare and may only happen once every show, if that. Person 02.01.06

The Catherine Tate Christmas Special was a sheer joy. If something makes you laugh, then it's good, Catherine kept me laughing all through the show. And I will remember the Gran sketch in the Old People's Home for a long time to come, also Bernie's sketh was very good. Obviously we won't all like every sketch, but there are lots of sketches in Little Britain and the Fast Show that are repetitive. Catherine is brilliant. Wendy Hampson 25.12.05
